Rotary Clubs Collaborate to Create Positive Change in Communities

The Rotary Club of Arusha Tanzania and the Rotary CDO East Urban ladies have a lot in common, including their shared commitment to creating positive change in their communities. During her visit, PE Linda had the opportunity to witness firsthand the impact of Vei’s Water Operator Partnerships in the Philippines. She also learned about the community projects being implemented by the Rotary Club of Cagayan de Oro East Urban. One of the projects that caught PE Linda’s attention was the club’s initiative to promote sustainable farming practices through their “Urban Gardening” project. The project aims to provide an alternative source of income for families in urban areas while promoting healthy living. The initiative has been successful in producing organic vegetables that are sold in local markets. PE Linda also expressed her admiration for the club’s efforts in promoting literacy through their “Share-a-Book” project. The program provides books to children in underprivileged communities, promoting a culture of reading and learning. Through this initiative, children gain access to books they would not otherwise have access to, which can positively impact their academic and personal development. The visit was an opportunity for both clubs to learn from each other, share best practices, and explore potential collaborations. At the end of the meeting, both clubs agreed to explore ways to work together on future projects. The Rotary Club of Cagayan de Oro East Urban expressed their gratitude to President-Elect Linda J.S. Baas and Tine Hemelings for their visit and for sharing their insights. They look forward to continuing the conversation and exploring opportunities for collaboration in the future. Overall, the visit was a reminder of the power of Rotary to bring people together across borders and work towards a common goal of creating positive change in the world. It is through these partnerships and collaborations that we can make a meaningful impact and create a better future for generations to come. Check out more photos on our facebook...
