TREE For Tomorrow

July 1, 2021, Cagayan de Oro City – The Rotary Club of Cagayan de Oro East Urban joined in on the District 3870 Kick-off Project titled TREE for Tomorrow. TREE Stands for Taking Responsibility for Earth and Environment. It was emphasized that if every member in the district planted one tree, then we would have planted hundreds of trees at the same time. Members of the club joined in at the official site at project chairman Rtn. Denvi Cabrera’s farm, JMB Rubber and Cattle Farm, along with president Biema and the committee members. Due to the limitation in the allowed number of attendees, all other members simultaneously joined in the tree planting activity by planting trees in their own backyards, properties and farms. A true testament of teamwork despite the pandemic. Thank you to all the members who participated and showed their commitment to take care of the environment by planting and taking care of the tree until it grows strong and sturdy.A total of 29 RCEU members and 6 family members participated in the project. Check out our video report for the project! Facebook albums for the project: Our very own Rotarian Lia Andanar Yu also wrote an article at the Tribune regarding her personal experience in taking care of the environment and about the project. You can read her article through this...

Public Image – 30×40 Feet Billboard Mounted At High-Traffic Bridge

July 14, 2021, Cagayan de Oro City. Early Risers! RC CDO East Urban ladies woke up super early to meet up at Jollibee Georgetown to walk over the Marcos bridge to launch the latest Rotary billboard by the club. A huge 30×40 feet billboard is placed in one of the most visible spots for passersby at one of the busiest bridges in the city. The messaging is timely, let’s help fight covid19 and let’s all serve to change lives. Thank you to our sponsor Pres. Biema Along and PDG Manny for this super generous donation from Star Ads, the premiere ads and signage printing company here in Cagayan de Oro! Cheers! Public Image is an important function in Rotary. When a Rotary club has a positive public image, brand or reputation, current members are motivated to participate in service above self, prospective members are eager to join and sponsors are willing to support service.  Often too little is known about Rotary in our communities and opportunities are missed. Thus the RCEU Club has made it a point to always have public image projects throughout the year. Apart from this humongous billboard this year, the club has continuously updated the following portals: Facebook Fanpage, Official Website and Official Youtube Channel. Present during the billboard check and launch were Pres. Biema with PDG Manny Along, PAG Ella Yu, Rtn. Bing Dacudao, Rtn. Steph Caragos, Rtn. Nenette Rebolos, PP Vicky Abogado, Sec. Pam Salon, Rtn. Joanne Llagas and PAG Bebotte Chu who heads the public image committee of the club. Facebook...

Public Image Seminar

July 13, 2019, Valencia City –  8 members and officers from the Rotary Club of Cagayan de Oro East Urban attended the Public Image Seminar  hosted by the Rotary Club of Metro Valencia at Valencia City. Our club was well represented by President Linda Caragos, Vice-President Imee Van der Born, Secretary Minnie Talimio, Dir/PP Bebotte Chu, Dir/PP Ella Yu, Dir Biema Along, Dir Joana Llagas, and PP Conchitina Lagonera. According to Rotary International’s website (rotary.org) Rotary’s public image is shaped by the actions of each of its members, as well as by its involvement in the community, its presence on the web and social media, and the publications it produces. The district public image committee, led by its chair, works actively to shape that image, and the district public image seminar is an opportunity to work with clubs to teach them how to do this in a way that promotes community awareness of Rotary’s work around the world. The public image seminar supports Rotary’s strategic goal of enhancing the public’s image of Rotary and its awareness of our service and activities. It will help club public relations chairs and other interested Rotary members to increase membership, expand community partnerships, improve fundraising opportunities, and promote involvement in club projects. Attendees can get answers to their public image questions and updates on materials and messaging. The goals of the seminar include:  Giving members the tools and training they need to effectively promote Rotary and their club to enhance Rotary’s public image  Preparing clubs and districts to create a public image plan  Helping clubs and districts plan public image outreach and campaigns  Encouraging clubs to designate professionals to run their websites and social media sites and manage other communications  Exchanging ideas about public image...
