Rotary Club of Cagayan de Oro East Urban Launches WATSAN Project for Community Well-being

The Rotary Club of Cagayan de Oro East Urban (RCCEU) under the leadership of Club President Bing Dacudao and District Governor Gilda “Gigi” Go has embarked on a significant endeavor to address the fundamental human right to clean water and sanitation. The WATSAN project, supported by the District Grant of RID 3870, aims to provide improved sanitation facilities for the community. The project involves the construction of sanitary public restrooms in front of the Gusa Barangay Hall, with separate cubicles for males and females. The groundbreaking ceremony took place on January 15, attended by the Gusa Punong Barangay, Marlo Tabac. The anticipated completion and turnover of this essential infrastructure are scheduled for February 27, 2024. Furthermore, the Rotary Club of Cagayan de Oro East Urban is committed to utilizing the excess funds from the WATSAN project to renovate the existing children’s comfort room in the Gusa Day Care Center. This initiative is expected to benefit sixty (60) learners and underscores the club’s ongoing dedication to community welfare. The Gusa Day Care Center, which was established 30 years ago under the leadership of then RCCEU President Sarah Borja, continues to play a vital role in the local community. The Rotary Club extends its appreciation to Architect Rtn Jonel Juaneza Tabilla and her team for their unwavering effort in making these projects a reality. The commendable efforts of every member of the WATSAN team and the RCCEU members have been instrumental in driving the success of these initiatives. Their relentless support and commitment to enhancing the well-being of the community have not gone unnoticed. RCCEU: Caring for Mothers through Kidney and Hepatitis Screening

The Rotary Club of East Urban Cagayan de Oro demonstrated its unwavering commitment to community well-being by hosting a kidney and hepatitis screening event on September 16th in Indahag, Cagayan de Oro. Empowering Mothers This health screening program was a poignant expression of Rotary’s dedication to “Service Above Self.” By offering free screenings, the club aimed to empower mothers in the community with knowledge about their health, potentially saving lives through early detection. Improving Sanitation and Saving Lives: Rotary Club Builds Toilets in Impasug-ong, Bukidnon

The Rotary Club of Cagayan de Oro East Urban is proud to join Rotary International in celebrating Water, Sanitation and Hygiene Month this March. Despite our modern world’s advances, over 750 million people still lack access to safe drinking water while more than 2.5 billion people lack access to adequate sanitation facilities. Rotary International believes that everyone should have access to clean water and proper sanitation, and the organization has committed to developing sustainable water and sanitation systems for communities worldwide. Rotary’s projects aim to provide communities with the tools they need to develop and maintain these critical systems. In partnership with RC CDO Premier, RC Kalayaan, RC Phoenix, Del Monte Philippines, Inc., and Del Monte Foundation, the Rotary Club of Cagayan de Oro East Urban is proud to donate toilet sets to 95 families of Sitio Intavas, Brg La Fortuna, and 105 families of Brg Kibenton, both of Impasug-ong, Bukidnon. This project aligns with Rotary’s Areas of Focus, which include Water, Sanitation, and Hygiene, as well as Disease Prevention and Treatment. PP Bebotte Chu, Director for Community Service, expresses the Club’s gratitude to all of its partners who made this project a success. A Gift of Health

” A GIFT OF HEALTH ” a maternal and child health care symposium and gift giving was brought to you by the ROTARY CLUB OF CDO EAST URBAN. We are unstoppable and we made things possible to help with our current situation. This was our very first ever hybrid project implementing it both physical/face-to-face and virtually. Headed by our dynamic President Biema Cruz Along and DIR/PP Ma Victoria G. Abogado despite the Covid Pandemic Restrictions. We were able to helped hundreds of people in helping educate them with better maternal and child healthcare, thereby save lives in 3 different locations simultaneously at Barangays 17 headed by Capt Goldmar Jerico Ebabacol Barangay Camamanan headed by Kagawad Jasmin T. Borja and Pedro Eloy S Roa Sr Elem School headed by Principal Candolyn Quilit. Cherry May C. Roa Distributed 150 health bags and over 200 packed meals to bring home for all the participants and volunteers. A GIFT OF HEALTH main goals are: 1. Raise awareness about the importance of health. 2. Help us reach highest health if we start early. 3. Create and foster healthy environment for our family. 4. Save lives of family members Our distinguished GUEST SPEAKERS are Dr Ruth Semilla-Beltran and Dr Jessa Sareno. So grateful for our RCEU Dream Team and their group leaders, PP Ophelia Dela Cerna PP Ching PF and RTN NETTE REBOLOS. Our technical support team headed by DIR Stephanie Caragos RTN Pam Navarro-Salon and hosted by Rtn Melanie Rp Caragos-Talimio Back to back with our annual PAMALIHI ELEM SCHOOL GIFT GIVING headed by PP Ophelia dela Cerna. 200 school supplies, 100 coloring books and 13 boxes of face masks were distributed to the students and parents. Strictly observing health protocols, safety social distancing, sanitizing with alcohol and wearing of face masks at all times in the presence of Barangay Health Workers to ensure everyones’ safety. All attendees and participants were fully vaccinated. We made things happen in just one productive day to achieve our main goal Rotary serve to change lives. September 28, 2021 – The Annual and continuous project of the Rotary Club of CDO East Urban to support the Pamalihi Elementary School. This year, the club donated 20 Reams of Bond Paper, National Geographic Books, Dictionary, Encyclopedia and Printer and Distribution of Dental Hygiene Kits This project was made possible through the generosity of the following: 1) All Septemborns of the Club (Rtn.
