Improving Sanitation and Saving Lives: Rotary Club Builds Toilets in Impasug-ong, Bukidnon

The Rotary Club of Cagayan de Oro East Urban is proud to join Rotary International in celebrating Water, Sanitation and Hygiene Month this March. Despite our modern world’s advances, over 750 million people still lack access to safe drinking water while more than 2.5 billion people lack access to adequate sanitation facilities.

Rotary International believes that everyone should have access to clean water and proper sanitation, and the organization has committed to developing sustainable water and sanitation systems for communities worldwide. Rotary’s projects aim to provide communities with the tools they need to develop and maintain these critical systems.

In partnership with RC CDO Premier, RC Kalayaan, RC Phoenix, Del Monte Philippines, Inc., and Del Monte Foundation, the Rotary Club of Cagayan de Oro East Urban is proud to donate toilet sets to 95 families of Sitio Intavas, Brg La Fortuna, and 105 families of Brg Kibenton, both of Impasug-ong, Bukidnon. This project aligns with Rotary’s Areas of Focus, which include Water, Sanitation, and Hygiene, as well as Disease Prevention and Treatment.

Club History

The club started with ladies who were not just acquaintances but close friends. They decided to give meaning to this closeness, thus the Rotary Club of Cagayan de Oro East Urban was born.
